YUM originally formed through the Leela Performing Improv Ensemble program in April 2014, though their current format of the show started a year later, after only¬†two members of the first two iterations of the casts remained. Director Christopher DeJong nurtured the actors’ ability to tell truthful and deeply personal monologues about subjects that are not often shared in public, and scene work inspired by those monologues. Sometimes the actors will even play each other on stage.
